Five spoke swivel base

We have the ability to take a project from concept to completion with each brief typically following the steps below.

Step 1/2 - Component

We will take a customers initial concept whether it be in the guise of a 2d drawing, hand sketch or an existing 3D model. (In this instance it was a 2d sketch) and transform it into a 3D model using Solidworks. To make the component die ready at this stage we will also apply drafting, ejector positions and feed areas and in some cases a metal flow simulation will be run.

Step 3. - Die design

A meeting will be arranged between the tool design engineer and the customer to determine their technical requirements and machine allocation. The tool will be designed to incorporate all of the customers requirements and will also adhere to Lawday's tooling standards.

Step 4 - Die Production

2D Drawings are generated for turned parts and all Parts are submitted to shop floor via CAM Software for production. Tool parts are manufactured in house and all machine build and assembly is done on site.

Step 5 - Tool Sign off

Tool is checked to lawdays and customers standards sheets before delivery.

Step 6 - Finished component.

Component is cast and if needed measured using faro arm before being machined to accept any component ancillaries. IE.Castors, ctr bearings.
